Completion certificates
When a student finishes a course, Cedarras gives them a certificate of completion. Certificates are on the plans that include them; the Plans page shows which.
What it shows
- The student's name, as it read on their profile the day they finished.
- The course name and the date they finished.
- Your account's name and site icon, in your colors.
A certificate is issued once, the first time a student finishes the course. It does not change on its own if you later rename the course or your account, and it is not taken back if you add lessons afterwards. A student can choose Update this certificate to refresh their name and your course and account details, for example after you add your site icon. If your account was on a plan without certificates when a student finished, no certificate is issued then, and none is added later.
Who can see it
A certificate is private to the student. They can download it as a PDF from their certificates page, and can choose to make a public link that anyone with the link can open. You can't see or change a student's certificate. It belongs to the student: it stays available to them even if you delete the course or close your account.
Start a Kit automation
On the course's Rules tab, choose The student is issued a completion certificate and pick a Kit tag. When a student is issued a certificate, Cedarras adds that tag in Kit, so you can send a congratulations email, suggest your next course, or add them to a sequence. Like other rules, it only applies to certificates issued after you create it.
